A Way in the World

A Way in the World is a 1994 book by Nobel laureate V. S. Naipaul. Arguably it is not a novel, a form which Naipaul has called outmoded.[1] Reviewers have used alternative words such as "sequence" to describe it.[2] The book is more fictional than the Naipaul's earlier work The Loss of El Dorado, which deals with some of the same material. In place of the historical approach to characters such as Sir Walter Raleigh and Francisco de Miranda which Naipaul adopted in the first book, he writes in the form of a screenplay, for example.
